:)

Hi! I'm Jolynn.

Primary students used to ignore reading a long passage even only three paragraphs. How to get them interested reading it and then answer the questions well?

Thank you for sharing some of you ideas.

Hello Everyone:
Instructor Kel's here.
I am a Commumications Instructor at a Medical Training school in NY. One component of the class I teach is a "Basic English Review".
Many of my students either are from other countries or have very limited proficiency with the basics of the english language.
I am usually limited with the time that I can spend on english, so I focus on the "8 Basic Parts of Speech".
Needless to say this is when I realize how little many of my students know, or remember about english, and therein lies the challenge and the dilema.

Hello everyone. My name is Janet and I am a primary teacher. I don't know much about this site as yet except that it is supposed to be about the use of English and that it can be used to investigate words and their meanings. I live in Liverpool and I am very interested in words and their origins.

Do you know the word Gollum, as in the Lord of the Rings, and this word's meaning?
