[Vocabulary] Usage of "Get" and "Help" in the sentences.

1.will we have to use "to" with "get" word in the following sentence? or Which one of the following sentences is correct?

# How long will it take to get New york?
or
# How long will it take to get to New york?



2. Since we know that when ever we use "Help" word we should use (Bare infinitive"without to") like:

# He helps me write the letter.

or some times we also use (Full infinitive "with to ") with "Help" word like:

# Understanding these molecules will help chemists to find out what is achievable.

Please let me know whether we should use "to" with "Help" word or not.

You need 'to'. You are not getting New York.

No, we don't don't know that. You go on (below) to contradict yourself. "Whenever we use 'help'" means "every time we use 'help'". You could use 'to' there.
or some times we also use (Full infinitive "with to ") with "Help" word like:

'To' is not absolutely necessary here, though I'd use it.
Please let me know whether we should use "to" with "Help" word or not.

It's often optional, as in your sentences.

If you were to ask me in regards to AmE usage, I would not use "to." In many cases, I would instead use the preposition "with."

"He helped me to write the letter" sounds a little clunky to me.
"He helped me write the letter" sounds a little truncated to me (as if something was missing).

"He helped me with writing the letter" seems more natural, though more lengthy.

"He helped me with my homework" sounds much better than "He helped me to do my homework."

I have no problem with "He helped me write the letter" or "He helped me do my homework". I prefer these two without "to".
