Hello.

Can I say a specific look "paints" someone's face?

Is this sentence I have written a good one?

A look of pleasure painted her face after she saw the candy in her brother's hand.

You might see "There was/She had a smile painted on her face" but it has a specific use - it suggests that it's a somewhat fake smile.

I see.

Can this sentence be fixed if I change "paint"?

Paint implies that something is applied on and is not natural or spontaneous.

How about she beamed with pleasure?
