Phrasal verbs example sentences dice game

Use the table below that your teacher tells you to (or choose one yourself if your teacher tells you to do that). Roll a dice twice and try to make an example sentence using a phrasal verb made from those two words. You get one point if your partner accepts that the sentence makes sense and the sentence is different from any other sentences made earlier in the game. You get no marks if it doesn’t make sense, if it is the same as previous sentences or if you give up. Play then passes to the next person. Note that some of the combinations are not possible, so you may sometimes have to give up. If you are playing for points, you get one point for a correct sentence and one point for a correct challenge that someone else’s sentence is not acceptable, but lose one point if you decide to check with the teacher and you are wrong.

Ask about any combinations which you are not sure about, verbs which you can’t make example sentences for, etc.

Phrasal verbs storytelling dice game

Tell a story line by line, rolling the dice once each time. You get one point for each line you can come up which uses a phrasal verb with a word on that line below, e.g. a phrasal verb with “hang”, “switch”, “sleep”, “off” or “away” if you roll a 6. If you can’t use a phrasal verb with one of those words, you can continue the story any way you like for half a point.
