Instructions for teachers

Staple the pages together to make a book and then cut through all the dotted lines to divide all the pages into two in the same places, so that the parts can be matched in any combination. Alternatively, the pages can be cut into cards to put together in different ways.

Make a crazy match, get students to say “No, it can’t”, then get them to work together to make a sensible question that they can say “Yes, it can” to, perhaps miming and/ or drawing the crazy combination to make its lack of possibility obvious and to make it funnier.

They then take turns making crazy questions and more sensible versions. There is at least one odd match and at least one possible “Yes, it can” match for each option.

After you finish, students could draw pictures on their own copy of the book or draw their favourite crazy question.
