Ha! This is so easy!

tektek

who answered " an adverb" should bear this in his mind....not all adverbs end with an "ly"
& in this case "lovely" is defo an adjective even tho it ends with an "ly" !!! Other adjs may end with "ing" or "ed" !

Statuess

Surely it can function as both?

You could have a 'lovely flower' or 'lovely dancing'. I chose adjective, but only because there's no option for both.

Not because it end in "ly" it is an adverb. For example, the adjective "fried" is an adjective and not a verb. Or "comforting" it is an adjective ending in "ing". The Gender not only is for the Present Continuous Tense that it is also for adjectives (boring) and activity verbs(writing is my favourite hobby).

Jeff

it's both an adverb and an adjective!! "a lovely run" or "a lovely person"

Luvverly

Jeff, those are both adjectives.
