John is learning how to shoot, but he doesn't shoot well. He always hits the target far from the center. Suppose he's practicing now, and Peter (who's more experienced than he is in shooting) is watching him do it. John makes a couple of shots: one of them misses the target completely, and the other one hits it, but again far from the center. Peter says to him: "Stop! You hold your right arm too far from the body, and you also don't exhale and you then don't hold your breath before pulling the trigger." John stops for a moment and replies to Peter:

1. I've never noticed that. Thanks.
2. I'd never noticed that. Thanks.
3. I never noticed that. Thanks.

Which of these versions would be appropriate in the context given?

The past perfect also works in that situation. I had never noticed that (until you mentioned it).
