It is my ____ time _____ windsurfing with my friends.
a) one; go
b) one; to go
c) first; going
d) first; to go
Source: written by a Taiwanese teacher of English.

The given answer is d. But according to the link below, c seems acceptable to speakers of British English. Which option do native speakers of American English think is correct?

Instead of "This is my first time to write you a letter", use "This is my first time writing you a letter" or, "This is my first time writing a letter to you" or probably best, "This is the first time I've written you a letter." Or you could rephrase it as "I've never written you a letter before, but..."

I guarantee there'll be a debate over this between speakers of BrE and those of AmE. For me, only C is correct. However, I'm pretty sure AmE speakers have told me that "my first time to go" is used in that variant.
As I suspect you already know, given your final sentence, I would actually say "This is the first time I've been windsurfing with my friends". If I had to use "my first time", I'd follow it simply with "windsurfing".

Have you ever met this Taiwanese teacher of English? Who is it that's employing him or her to write these questions?
