Have I made any mistakes?

When John was a teenager, he would often earn his pocket money by house-sitting for his neighbours. John took care of their pets, mowed grass, watered plants, dusted furniture and tested burglar alarms. Because of his honesty and reliability, people liked him and usually paid him twice as much as it had been agreed.

I'd change 'grass' to 'lawns' and delete 'it'.

Otherwise, it's excellent.

You could say:

as had been agreed

(In fact, I was expecting that.)

That was my point in deleting 'it'.

How about dependability?
