What would be your first interpretation of 'John pleaded with my mother not to get an agent to sell the house. An hour ago she said she was.' ?

Can you rephrase it? How sure you would be that you have understood the text right?

The first sentence is fine. The second sentence, in my humble opinion, is unfinished.

Is that your writing?

There was no reason to put the quoted text in bold in post #1. I've removed it.
Your thread has been tagged with "Waiting for source information" because you did not provide the source of the quote. In post #1, you must always tell us the source and the name of the author/speaker. If you wrote it yourself, make that clear in post #1.
You won't receive any more responses until you provide that information.

It's perfectly clear what is meant. No interpretation is necessary.

I'm sure I could rephrase it, but why would I want to?

Very sure. Why wouldn't I be?

How about:
John pleaded with my mother not to get an agent to sell the house, which she was going to, an hour ago.
