Hi,

Below are four options for asking the same question, I usually use "What kind of", but today I want to use "What kinds of" instead.

The Option B & D sounds not correct because it uses a single form "book". C is also not correct but I am not sure.
Please help to confirm which option is correct.

A. What kind of books do you like?
B. What kind of book do you like?

C. What kinds of books do you like?
D. What kinds of book do you like?

Can we say "What kinds of books do you like?"

You may like science books, fictions and ... so on.

I like A best, too. But actually, even though they aren't literally asking the same question, they're all grammatical, and they'd all net the same answer in a real conversation.

So, Winwin, you're being precise, which is fine but not necessary.
