Do you think the use of "her" is odd here? I do. The author seems to be eager to introduce that the professor is a female, and so rigidly inserting "her" there. I am not sure.

Is the use of "her" this way natural in English?

Professor Jill Lepore's her new podcast, “The Last Archive," takes listeners on a journey through the last century examining the evolution of standards of evidence, proof, and knowledge

It's obviously a typo, and should be omitted.

Lepore is the best in the business, by the way.

The writer might have started by writing "Professor Jill Lepore - her new podcast", then decided to go with the apostrophe + s possessive, but then they forgot to remove "her".
