Mother Nature is an all-encompassing word for nature. So in the piece, Mr and Mrs Wulff-Tilford have decided not to use any chemicals or flea collars to avoid their three pets bringing fleas into the hoiuse. They have decided to allow nature to take its course and are hoping that they just won't end up with fleas in the house.
