Hi. lets imagine : If I have 10 pens and my friend has 20 pens, is it correct to write grammatically:
1. My friend has 10 more than I have.
2. My friend has twice as many pens as I have.
3. My friend has twice as many as I have.

Write out small numbers like ten. Once you've done that, they're all correct. Of course, number three means the same as the other two only if context has established what you're talking about.
