There are many people who are more interested in this project than Mary/ There are many people/ in this project than Mary.
The examples are mine. Is the second sentence correct, where I omit the "who are"?
 
1. There are many people who are more interested in this project than Mary.
2.
There are many people more interested in this project than Mary.
Whenever you give us more than one sentence to look at, present them as a numbered list.
The examples are mine. Is the second sentence, correct, where in which I omitted the "who are", correct?
Both sentences are grammatically correct.
 
Please note that the edit to the OP made post #2 fairly meaningless.
