Say:

He's gained popularity ever since he visited Paris.

(I am assuming that he has come back.)

The second sentence is OK. (It would make sense in the proper context.)

The third sentence is OK. The last two sentences are also OK. You could also say:

He became famous after he visited Paris.

(You should have left off the explanations.)

Hi.Thanks for replying. What context would be that? And does saying "went to Paris" imply that he might still be in Paris?

If you say a person went to Paris, there is no reason for anybody to assume that he came back. So, yes, he might still be there.

(You should have started a new thread. It's an entirely new question.)

Could you please explain the meaning implied behind each of these sentences?
He's gained popularity ever since he went to/visited Paris.
He's gained popularity ever since he's been to Paris.
He gained popularity after he visited Paris.
It was not until he visited Paris that he became famous.
It was not until he visited Paris that he's become famous.
He became famous after he visited Paris.

It was not until he visited Paris that he became famous.
It is only since he visited Paris that he has become famous.
