You need to remember that there are multiple ways of saying just about anything. Some of the differences are regional, some are international, some are personal choice and some are simply to do with how people picked up the language in their early years. The whole point (and the joy) of having so many different nationalities and speakers of different English variants helping on this forum is that learners get lots of different opinions. Occasionally, you will get every single native speaker saying "No, we don't say it like that" and in that case it's appropriate for learners to assume that that's the case for everyone. You have been on the forum long enough to know that even the native speakers don't always agree. That is the nature of the English language.
