I chatted with my friend who I hadn’t seen for a while at an English club tonight, I told him that I planned to take the IELTS in April but I still haven’t taken it yet. He asked me why, I said:

I’m just procrastinating. Sometimes if you don’t want do anything, you’ll cook up many excuses for it.

Is my sentence natural?
