In this case do (a) and (b) both work? Which one do you prefer?

I assume that they both work.

I am saying so, because the green part is just followed by the red part. That's why I think (a) and (b) both work. What do you think?

a. I am saying so, because ...

b. I say so, because ...

c. I said so, because ...

d. I have said so, because ...

Which one should I use? Could you tell the reason?

I want to add an option: (E) I assume so because ...

Is this because I was saying sentences without interruption, so the present simple is appropriate? :)

I don't quite understand what you mean, but I think the answer is no.

Use the present tense because there's no reason to use the past tense. Use the simple aspect because there's no reason to use any other aspect.
