Not relevant, but interesting: Classical Greek formed the perfect 'synthetically' rather than 'analytically'; that is, they added an inflexion, rather than using an auxiliary. 'Eureka' is an example of this formation; it's the perfect of the irregular verb ʿευρισΧειν (='to find').
