B) doesn't work for the second question for me because it says that they should support reading habits, which they can do without reading themselves.
 
I get that, and that's the reason option c) would be correct. I'm having trouble with the word "addopting" though. Doesn't it mean that besides supporting reading habits they should, adopt them? It's just my interpretation, what do you think?

In my opinion and in a way I think both b) and c) are correct.

Also, by the way, thanks a lot for the reply!
 
You have a point, but everything detailed after that doesn't suggest that parents have a duty to tuck themselves into bed with War and Peace. I think it's not very well phrased, but the best I can see is that some people could argue at a stretch a case for b). However, I struggle to think of it as more than half right. Maybe others will feel differently too.
 
Thanks a lot, now that was indeed the answer I was looking for. It's a bit ambiguous, since as you stated, option b) is technically right. I'll try to discuss it further with my teacher.
