This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

This hot summer has given me some inspirations about future city development. I expect many buildings will be connected with air conditioned bridges. Many railway stations will be built in malls, apartments and schools so that people wouldn’t be affected by extreme weather events much. In some places where earthquakes are frequent, buildings might be built suspended in the air.

That's already the case here-- especially with medical buildings.

Buildings built suspended in the air is a bit far-fetched. They will have to be suspended/hung from somewhere, some kind of solid frame. In the event of any earthquake, the frame would still shake, and worse, the effect on the suspended structure would be amplified.

There are established methods to build earthquake resistant buildings, like using steel structures, which are more resilient, and having structures sit on rubber bearings to absorb vibration, instead of directly on the foundation.
