This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

Recently, I've been watching English dramas very attentively, and it's paid off. I've learned a lot of words and expressions which are frequently used. Interestingly, I guess most of the words correctly by only following the progression of the plots. Next step is to practise my listening skills. It's extremely hard to hear what the speakers are saying. Strangely, when I turn the subtitles on, I can hear every word they're saying!

I've read it a couple of times. The only thing I would change is I would delete the word "Interestingly". (If it didn't interest you you wouldn't talk about it at all.)

I'm guessing that you can hear them, but you can't make out the words.

Yes! Sometimes they are only simple words!

Do I need to replace "hear" with "make out"?

I would.

Practice makes perfect!
