hello
please help me with this sentence ,
The professor devoted all his life ...........(teach).... students .
choose the best answer
1/ to teach 2/ teaching

You devote your life to X. X must be a noun, pronoun or gerund (verbal noun), so we need 'teaching' after the preposition 'to'.

If your only choices are "to teach" or simply "teaching" then neither is correct. It should be "to teaching".
