No, it's not a man-made forest. It's about preserving what nature has made. Unfortunately, while I have made a little progress, I can't get our OP to simplify things enough so that can I understand the text well enough to put it into idiomatic English.

It is not just about preserving what nature has made, it is about connecting them. They can't change and connect by themselves without human efforts. I was wondering what purpose the exercise serves.
