Could you please give me the correct usage of the expression 'it's the first time'. The only usage I have come across is: 'It's the first time' + present perfect i.e. It's the first time I've tasted sushi. However, I'd like to know if this tense should be used in anticipation of an action i.e. when I am just about to taste sushi but have not yet done so, or should I say 'this is the first time I'm tasting/will taste .....'? Your reply would be greatly appreciated
