I was watching videos on Douyin (The Chinese version of Tiktok). The poster (someone who uploads their videos online) is making a pair of shoes out of mango for her cat. I thought it was funny and creative. (Here are two photos) Later, when my grandma knew that, she said the sentence below (italic). I can understand why she says such things because she's old and she used to live in a time when time was precious. Is the italic translation good? How would native speakers say this?
My grandmother also took a look at the video and she said "She does have a lot of time to waste to make mango shoes for her cat".
The first picture is a already-eaten mango. The second is a pair of shoes on her cats' feet.
