When someone asks: What do you do?

I drive a taxi.
I am a taxi cap.

Are both answers good?
 
Where did you get "taxi cap" from? I've never heard it.
A taxi is a taxi cab.

No, if you say "I am a taxi cab" you are saying you are the car.

I am a taxi driver.
I drive a taxi.
 
or, I'm a cab driver.
