Verbs of sensation discussion questions

Take turns asking each other questions from below, starting with the most interesting and skipping any which you don’t understand.

  • What do you like about the area the live in?
  • What do you like about your bedroom?
  • What do you like about your hometown?
  • What do you like about…?
  • What does your father look like?
  • What does your favourite actor look like?
  • What does your hair look like when you wake up in the morning?
  • What does your home look like?
  • What does your hometown look like?

  • What does your favourite car look and sound like?
  • What does your … sound like?
  • What does your favourite dish taste like?
  • What does your favourite sauce taste like?
  • What does your favourite… taste like?
  • What does your… taste like?
  • What does your favourite perfume or deodorant smell like?
  • What does your favourite dish smell talk?
  • What does your favourite… smell like?
  • What does your shampoo smell like?
  • What does your… smell like?
  • What does your most hated food taste like?
  • What is your boss like?
  • What is your mother like?
  • What is your job like?
  • What is your… like?
  • What’s your favourite snack? Why?
  • What’s your favourite…? Why?
  • What’s your least favourite sound? Why?
  • What’s your least favourite…? Why?
  • Which of your parents are you more like?/ Who do you take after?
  • Who do you look like?
  • Who do you sound like?
  • Who is the best looking person you know? Why?

Ask about any questions which you skipped, weren’t sure about how to answer, etc, working together to answer them each time.

First of all without looking above, write questions which mean the things below: 

Are you more similar to your father or mother?

Can you describe the appearance of…?

Can you describe the noise that… makes?/ What kind of noise does… make?

Can you describe the odour of…?/ What kind of odour does… make?

Can you describe the taste of…?

Can you describe…?

Is your appearance more similar to your mother’s or your father’s?

What are the good things about… for you?

Whose voice is yours most similar to?

Find questions on the first page which mean the same as these.

Check as a class.

Take turns asking each other different questions with one or more of these key words:
