Warmer

Spin something such as a pen. Ask other students about the person who it is pointing at with questions like “What’s his favourite game?” and “Does she like skiing?”

Describing what likes things and dislikes things guessing game

Choose one of the things below but don’t tell or show anyone else. Give hints like those on the last page about who or what likes or dislikes that thing until your partner guesses what you have chosen. All hints must be about other people and things, so mustn’t be “I…” or “My favourite…”. Your partner(s) can only guess once per hint. If you are scoring, you get five points if they guess right after only one hint, four points if they guess right the second time, etc, so please choose an easy one and give the best hints that you can.

Ask about anything below you don’t understand, couldn’t use, etc, working together to make suitable statements each time.

Describing what likes things and dislikes things brainstorming games

Choose one of the things below and take turns making true statements about who and what likes and dislikes it until someone says something that isn’t true or gives up.

Make a statement using the table on the last page below and work together to think of things that match what you said.
