Grammatical Classification

| | Comments (0)

In area like Quizzes and Handouts, we try to classify entries grammatically. However, many of the entries defy easy categorisation. When this happens, we either put them in General or put them in a category that seems to fit best.

I have just done a quiz on for & to in the members' area and have put it in the prepositions section. While this is not a perfect fit, it does describe the quiz satisfactorily. The categorisation may not fit 100%, but it breaks lists into chunks that can be assimilated. One size does not fit all, and we are aware of this so we try to slot things into areas that make sense, even though they are not perfect. The alternative would be to break the list up into so many areas that it would be virtually unusable.
