Ben

Frying pans are skillets! FOOL

Trish

We know...but the question was "which one do we use"?

gardemarine

Frying pans is most commonly used.

Robbie

Not in my part of the US--we use "skillet". The term "frying pan" is British and Northeast USA.

Ben Curtis

I have to say, but my namesake got into a bit of a muddle there - sorry Ben.

The question is obviously not:

Qu. Do you use a skillet or a frying pan, or both?

But:

Qu. Do you use "skillet" (i.e. the word), "frying pan", or both.

Whilst frying pans are skillets (i.e. for all x, x is a frying pan iff x is a skillet) it is certainly not true that the word "frying pan" is the word "skillet"... FOOL

Here in Texas it's 6 one way, half a dozen the other. ;-)
