Bo said to Chan, "You are very pretty today."

Chan replied, "Bo, you make my day."

What does it mean of you make my day?

After Chan said you make my day, shall Bo say, "Thank you." or "you are welcome."

Thank you.

***not a teacher***

It means, 'you make me feel happy'.

Neither seems natural. I suppose he could say "Glad to hear it" or something like that.

Chan would have replied "Bo, thank you. You've made my day".

Mehrgan's interpretation is correct, although the expression is stronger than just 'made me feel happy'.

Bo's reply could indeed be "You're welcome" because that is the usual response to thanks. Of course he could reply "You didn't look pretty yesterday", but that might be unwise.
