[General] Would you tell me what does "It's just the way you are" mean?

Hello.

I heard the sentence, "It's just the way you are" in a movie.

I made a guess on the mearning of it, but I am not totally sure if I got it straight or not. so I've made a question about this sentence.


Here are texts.


A: Why? What about yourself scares you?

B: I have bad thoughts.

A: About what?

B: People.

A: People in general or certain people?

B: Certain people.

A: Like who?

B: You.

A: You have bad thoughts about me? why?

B: I just do.

A: Did I do something or say something that upset you?

B: It's just the way you are..

< What I understood in this sentence is that "Because I know the way shows your personality".>

Another questions here I have is..

Could "That's just the way you are" be used here interexchangeably?
Could "It's very sweet of you" be used, instead of "That's very sweet of you"? <As an another example>

Would you tell me in which situation or when I should choose either "it" or "that"?

Could this be the answer:

"It's just the way you are" = "I'ts all down or due to your personality and nothing else"

I'll be waiting for confirmation.

I'm not a teacher, but I'm a native speaker. It means, "It's just you," as opposed to, "It's something you did or said."

p.s. "That's just the way you are" wouldn't make sense. It's as if the one guy is saying, "What is it about me?" and the other answers, "It's just the way you are."
