'would' modal verb for future prediction

Can 'would' be used for future prediction ?

For instance,

a. in the next century people would live in the Moon

b. I am worried that I would not get a graduate job after finishing my study


which one is correct and which one is wrong and why

Not really, no!

a) In the next century, people will/might live on the moon.

b) I am worried that I won't (will not)/might not get a graduate job....

In order to use "would" in those sentences, they could be:

a) Many years ago, we thought people would live on the moon in the future.

b) I was worried that I wouldn't get a graduate job...
