Hi, folks,
In The Golden Girls Season 3, Episode 4, Rose says, “Boy, have I been stupid! I haven't felt this dumb since I found out William Conrad wasn't one guy in a jacket and another guy in a pair of pants.” Could anybody tell me what she means?

Thanks as always,

I'm afraid the reference is rather lost on me, and I suspect on everyone else here. At first I thought it was referring to William Conrad being remarkably tall, but I googled his height and he's shorter than me and I'm not remarkably tall. I have no other ideas as to what it might mean; his Wikipedia page doesn't reference any notable physical attributes of his. Sorry :(

Rose is known for saying dumb things. This seems to be one of them.

(You can thank me now.)

I think it has something to do with Jake and the Fat Man

It could be a weightist reference to him being the size of two people.
