Hi,

I'm writing a short user-manual in English at work and need your help out there please.

where should I use the following:
Was released.
Has been released.

For example:
"The company has released a new software last night"
or
"The company released a new software last night"

"The new software has been released last night"
or
"The new software was released last night"

thanks in advance

"New software has been released"; "The company has released new software"; "The company released new software last night".

"The company released new software last night" wouldn't be relevant for very long. I might put it in an email but not in a user manual.
