Can I use present continuous with "when" or should I use present simple?

1. I take the subway when I am hurrying.
2. I am confused when I am getting angry.
3. I take a taxi when I am going for a walk.

It depends on the sentence.

1. I take the subway when I am hurrying.

... when I'm in a hurry.

2. I am confused when I am getting angry.
I get confused when I'm angry.

3. I take a taxi when I am going for a walk.
You can't go for a walk in a taxi. :) But assuming you could, you need "I take a taxi when I go for a walk".

Present continuous:
Don't talk to me about work when I'm eating.
I plan my day when I'm out running in the morning.
