Is it wrong to use "when" in progressive tenses? For example, "He fell down the stairs when his wife was working in the garden."
I read that "when" is used for short actions and "while" for longer actions, but I also found this example, "When the men were out working in the field, I helped with milking the cows, feeding the calves and the pigs."
