I want to describe a situation when the light from sky passes through something.

Are these correct and natural?

1. The gray of the clouds seeped through the drapes, casting the room in a dreary, diffused glow.

2. The crimson of the dying twilight filtered in through the window, highlighting loose strands of her brown hair which looked auburn in the light.

Is it okay to say dying twilight?

(Not a teacher or a native speaker.)

I think you should keep things simple. How about this?

The twilight filtered through the window, casting a crimson light into the room.
