Hi. I want to ask you a question. Which sentence sounds better?
When I was studying, I used to party more.
When I studied, I used to party more.
In my opinion the second sentence is more appropriate, but I don't know, if I'm right.

I find the first more natural. In real life, I'd say "When I was a student, I partied more (than I do now)".

Can you glance at this example?
When my hair was going bald, I used to buy special pills. What about this sentence? In the previous one, the first part of the sentence was possible to modify, but I don't think that it is here.
