Which sentence, or sentences is / are correct?

A. When I visited her last month I noticed that she had been sick.
B. When I visited her last month I noticed that she was sick.
C. When I visited her last month I noticed that she is sick.

I consider 'had been' and 'was' to be correct, but I am not a teacher.

Actually, I hope that "C" in incorrect :)
Maybe someone else can confirm my assumptions.

I would not use 'is' even if she is still sick now, but I am not a teacher.

I not sure, but I think that use of 'was' suggests that she is still sick now and use of 'had been" suggests that she isn't sick now.
but I am not a teacher. :)

A says she was no longer sick when I visited her.

B says she was sick when I visited her. It says nothing about whether she is still sick now.

C is incorrect.

How could you have foretold, when you visited her last month, whether she would/would not be sick a month later?

I think (1) is not logical. How could you have known that somebody had been sick just by "noticing", without being told?

For instance: drugs were all over her apartment
