Hello.

I want to use the verb "diagnose" with the doctor as the subject. The doctor's diagnosis was not accurate.

Is the collocation "initially diagnose as" correct?

Is this correct and natural?

An immunologist initially diagnosed the patient as suffering from Legionnaires' disease. The patient, later, exhibited some symptoms such as seizures that were not characteristic of a Legionnaires' disease patient. After further research and testing, the patient was diagnosed with

Monoclonal gammopathy.

That's okay. You can replace as suffering from with a single preposition. Can you tell me which one?

Yes. With.

Is the rest of it okay too?

Remove the commas around "later" and it's okay.
