Generally we listen to music "on" something, radio, hi-fi, mp3 etc.Which option is correct (or more correct than the other) and why?

It doesn't make any difference whether or not you use "rarely".Please note that I've italicized 'rarely'.
Is it that the answer would change depending on the frequency of the action performed? I mean-
I listen to music on my iPhone everyday.
I rarely listen to music with my iPhone.
