[Vocabulary] what is the meaning of 'get out ' ?

Let me get out the journalism requirements checklist so we can make sure that you're taking the classes you need.
I want to get the reference from the below:

To "get out" something is to uncover or reveal something. For example, "Please get out your books." - take the books from where they were and place them in front of you. Let me get out the journalism requirements checklist - allow me to put the checklist in front of us.
 
I am not a teacher.

Imagine that there actually is such a thing as a 'journalism requirements checklist' and that I have it in my pocket.
I then say to you, "Let me get it out so we can make sure that you're taking the classes you need."

It just means to take it from wherever it is. To open it up and have a look at it.

I can't see that in either of your references.
