What is the grammatical name for a word that is spelt the same way forwards and backwards?

That's a palindrome.
 
The word is also used for a phrase or sentence that is spelt the same way forwards and backwards. An example is the English version of the first words ever spoken on this earth:

" Madam, I'm Adam." (Punctuation marks are ignored)
