What is different between Another, The Other, The Others, Another

Would you help me?

Why don't you write a few sentences of your own using these words, Bamdad, and we'll be happy to comment.

Sorry to gate crash another members thread - especially as I am a very, very, very, junior member - but I often look at other threads, as well as my own posts on this site. This topic has been discussed on the many other sites that I visit, but the explainations given to contradict each other. This site, in my opinion, is much better than the others, so lets wait for a teacher to give us the correct explaination. My thoughts are as follows;

The other, I assume,can only be used when comparing/describing two things.

Another, can be used to compare one thing with any amount of things.

The Others, relates to everything except what you are comparing it to.

PS
If this is not acceptable, could sombody let me know and I will not do it again.
