Is there a certain word for it?

Not a teacher, not a native!

How about bird's-eye shot?

***Neither a teacher nor a native-speaker***

"Top view" maybe.

It depends exactly what you mean by "from above."

"Aerial view" is a possibility.

This one doesn't work. A 'top view' is sometimes used in instruction manuals ("top view of the television"), but I haven't seen it in other contexts.

'Aerial photograph' is a strong collocation. Here are the top 10 in BNC:

1 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS 57
2 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY 48
3 AERIAL VIEW 29
4 AERIAL BOMBARDMENT 19
5 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH 13
6 AERIAL DEVICES 11
7 AERIAL RECONNAISSANCE 10
8 AERIAL ATTACK 9
9 AERIAL SURVEY 8
10 AERIAL DISPLAY 7
... [total: 495 for 'aerial' followed by a noun]

So if you read 'aerial' the odds are shorter than 5:1 that the next word will be one of photograph, photography, and photographs.
Cotinuing with the racing odds theme, these 'also ran':
25 AERIAL PHOTOS 4
26 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHER 4
27 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS 4
28 ...
29 AERIAL PHOTO 3
...

So the odds are well under 4:1 for 'aerial' + 'photo[*]' :)
