"Other people like to travel, and still other people like to have an adventure." What does the word "still" mean in this sentence ? Could it be "but" ?

***** A NON-TEACHER's COMMENT *****

I think it is closer to "in addition" or "furthermore."

Respectfully yours.

Usually you would use "still" when you've had a rather long list of people

Some people like apples as their favorite fruit, while othes like bananas. Some prefer peaches, and still others like more exotic fruits, like kiwis or dragonfuit.

It does sound strange to me with only two groups in the list.

It means "yet" in a manner similar to Swedish "futforinge".
