I received an email, it starts with "Making sure you got this."

The email looks like this:

Making sure you got this.

I just ......

Regards,
Dave.

What does Making sure you got this. mean? Does it mean that the sender is giving me heads up?

Do I need to reply anything? What should I reply? Is the sender asking me to reply something to say I have received the email?

Does the rest of the email refer to another email that he sent you in the past? Perhaps he sent you something, you didn't reply, so now he wants to check you got it. If so, then the "this" should be followed by a copy of another email sent previously. If not, then I can't make any sense of it. If he just wanted you to confirm that you received the email you have quoted, he would put at the end "Please let me know that you got this email".
